Market Summary:
Here are the concepts I’ve discussed in many recent videos and in the two 2024 Preview Videos: 1) I am bullish over the next 6-12 months because of all the technical strength we saw from November through January. The institutions aggressively came back into the markets because of the new bull market powered by AI, and they are anticipating the Fed lowering rates this year. 2) Does that mean we will go straight up with no pullbacks? Of course not! That’s why I’ve also discussed the theme of “using the 21-day EMA as your guide.” 3) Stay focused on the best growth stocks/ETFs out there. 4) Get strong entry points and manage your trades based on your timeframe and overall investment plan. If you don’t have a plan, please continue to finetune it and work on one that fits your situation. 5) Manage risk and stick to your stops. Just because it’s a bull market doesn’t mean everything is going to work out.
Coming into this week, I mentioned that the Nasdaq Composite was 2.9% above its 21-day EMA. If we saw continued strength early in the week (which we saw on Monday), don’t be surprised if we see a pullback to the 21-day (which is exactly what we saw on Tuesday). I stress this point in this video, which is also bullet point number 2 above, USE THE 21-DAY AS YOUR GUIDE. That way, when a day like Tuesday happens, I don’t want members to panic and just understand that these pullbacks are part of the normal price action. From here, we tend to see a Thursday low ahead of Options Expiration (OpEx) week. It’s possible that we see some weakness Thursday morning into the European close (around 11-11:30AM EST), and then strength into next week. If the strength continues into next week, I will look to reduce exposure, as I am expecting some profit taking after OpEx and Nvidia’s GTC Conference on Monday, March 18th. Please keep in mind that is type of tactical/active management isn’t for everyone. I just present this information so you are prepared for some of these potential moves in the market. Thank you and good luck for the remainder of the week.
