Market Summary:
Coming into this past week, I discussed some factors that would help increase the probabilities of a sustained uptrend: 1) Little to no distribution. 2) More stocks to setup and the overall price action of stocks to improve. 3) More accumulation and preferably another follow through day. 4) See the major indexes regain their key moving averages. 5) Sentiment to reach high levels of bearishness. Overall, this past week was mostly unchanged, and it occurred on lighter volume. The biggest thing I would like to see is a strong accumulation day, showing me that the large institutions are coming back into the market with conviction. The biggest two factors holding them back right now include high interest rates and the conflict in the Middle East.

If we get any positive news out of the Middle East, that would help relieve some tension off the market. Also, Fed Chair Powell speaks this Thursday, October 19th at the Economic Club of NY. If he mentions any sign of the Fed pausing their current rate hiking cycle, that could lead to more upside volume. Again, the conclusion is the same: Be patient and let the market prove itself better. There are plenty of growth stocks acting well, we just need to see more consistency from the institutions. In the meantime, I suggest keeping any new buys light until we get better confirmation. This week, the MidWeek Video will be posted on Tuesday, October 17th by 8PM EST and the Weekend Video will be posted on Sunday, October 22nd by 6PM EST. Thank you in advance for your understanding and have a wonderful weekend!
