Market Summary:
We had a follow through day (FTD) on the Nasdaq Composite last Friday, October 6th. I mentioned in the weekend video that for the market to continue to prove itself, we need to see the following: 1) Little to no distribution. 2) More stock setups and for the overall price action of stocks to improve. 3) An additional FTD or at least more accumulation. 4) The major indexes to regain their key moving averages. In this video, I discuss all of these points in the Market Commentary and index review section.
The conclusion is that so far this week, market conditions are slowly improving. The main negative is that all three days this week have occurred on below average volume. Although we haven’t seen any distribution days, I would prefer to see better volume on the up days, showing me that the big institutions are coming back in with conviction. Again, we have seen slow and steady progress, but I would still like to see the market continue to prove itself. For members who like to be tactical, please keep in mind that sometimes we get a sweet spot for trading from the Thursday prior to OpEx week (tomorrow) into the week of OpEx (next week). Thank you and good luck for the remainder of the week.
