Market Summary:
Over the past month, I discussed to expect seasonal strength from approximately June 27-July 23, and I presented the data beneath every recent video. Thankfully, we got that strength and based on the emails I received, many members were able to take advantage of it. Coming into this week, I mentioned that if the strength continues, I would look to reduce my exposure. I stuck to that plan and reduced from approximately 85% invested down to 50%. The reason for doing this is: 1) The indexes are extended. 2) We are heading into two of the seasonally weaker months of the year (August and September). 3) I wanted to lock in some profits after a strong run in the markets.

When I mentioned this plan over the weekend and during Monday’s webinar, I received many questions from members asking what they should do with their portfolio. I take 10 minutes at the beginning of this video to address some of those questions. To summarize it for you: 1) I can’t give investment advice. 2) The main purpose of this product is to encourage members to make decisions and work on having their OWN investment plan. 3) I’m not turning bearish, just expecting a normal pullback over the summer. 4) If you are a long-term investor, you have to make sacrifices and be able to deal with volatility. 5) If you can’t handle volatility, you shouldn’t be in the market. I also share part of my story and my reasoning for reducing exposure. Mainly, it’s to continue to make improvements in my trading style and to NOT give too much back after a strong run in the market.

From here, I am still expecting a pullback because the market is extended short-term. As far as later this summer, I will take this day-by-day and continue to update you in these videos. While going through my screens in preparation for this video, I found very few stocks near safe entry points. Almost everything is extended, which makes sense because the market has been strong the past few weeks. Therefore, be disciplined with new buys, and have some patience until these stocks offer better entry points. As always, know your timeframe and continue to fine-tune your own investment plan. Thank you and good luck for the remainder of the week.
