Market Summary:
On Monday and Tuesday of this week, the market paused on very light volume as it was waiting for the CPI (inflation) report. On Wednesday, the market had a solid day on higher volume as the CPI report showed the 10th consecutive month of lower and lower inflation. In this video, I try to keep things simple and summarize the positives and negatives. Positives: 1) The major indexes (Nasdaq Composite and S&P 500) continue to act well and hold their key moving averages. 2) The price action in many growth stocks continues to improve. This is occurring across many sectors such as Mega Caps, Software, Semiconductors, Biotech, Medical Products, Retail, and Housing. 3) Sentiment is fairly muted. 4) The Fed. This used to be in the negative category because they were raising rates, but I think they are done for the year and the market is slowly anticipating this. Negatives: 1) Other indexes (IWM and MDY) are still weak. 2) Problems continue with the Regional Banks. 3) Certain sectors are weak such as Financials, Energy, Materials, and other commodity-related groups.

What’s my conclusion from all this? I am more positive than most because of two big reasons: 1) The price action of the growth stocks. 2) The Fed. Of course, we are not out of the woods and there will still be volatility along the way, but I’m going to do my best to stick to those 5 bullet points I have outlined in many videos. I am currently 75% invested, and in this video, I discuss some positions I added to and others I have reduced or cut completely. Please remember, I discuss this to give you transparency and visibility to what I’m doing, but my style of trading is not for everyone. I encourage members to develop their own style, know their timeframe, and continue to stick to their overall investment objectives. If you have any questions, you can ask them during the next webinar which will be this Monday, May 15th at 7PM EST. Thank you and good luck for the remainder of the week!
