Market Summary:
Since the follow through day on Thursday, October 14th, the price action of the market and its leading stocks has been strong. Yes, we did see some profit taking on Friday, but that’s to be expected after a 1,000 point move in the Nasdaq Composite over the past 2-3 weeks. From here, I would still expect some consolidation, backing and filling, and intraday shakeouts before heading higher later this year. Please keep in mind that the market moves on psychology. For example, when the market was correcting in September and into early October, many people were shorting, raising cash, buying puts, and sentiment was getting very negative. Now that we’ve run over the past few weeks, bullish sentiment has picked up again. In other words, some shakeouts over the near-term should be expected to hopefully wear out some of the recent excess bullishness.
Overall, keep things simple. As you know, I use the price action of stocks to determine the health of the market. Right now, many stocks are strong but some need a little time to digest their recent moves. That’s why I always stress to get strong entry points, and to NOT chase extended stocks. In this video, I review many of the leaders. If you have any questions, you can ask them during the next webinar, which should hopefully be next week. Thank you and have a great weekend!
