Market Summary:
As many of you know, I like to look at the positives and negatives in the market and adjust my investment levels accordingly. When doing this, you have to evaluate things with an open mind and have a very flexible approach. The current positives: 1) The Nasdaq Composite is acting well (above its key moving averages) 2) The price action in many Mega Cap and Software stocks continue to improve 3) The Fed is on our side. Although they projected two interest rate increases in 2023, the overall low-interest rate environment is still very favorable for equities.

The current negatives: 1) The S&P 500 and Russell 2000 closed slightly below their 50-day moving averages. I’ll be watching this week to see if they can hold these levels. 2) The last two weeks of June tend to be seasonally weak. The market still needs to digest the Fed meeting from this past week, and get through the end of the quarter portfolio adjustments/rebalancing.

So what should you do? As always, any decision you make should be based on your own timeframe and investment objectives. If you have a longer-term timeframe, get those strong entry points and be patient during any potential upcoming volatility. If you have a shorter-term timeframe, keep some cash to help cushion any potential downside and to have cash to buy stocks near logical support levels. Of course, if anything breaks down significantly below its 10-week moving average, that would be an area to stop yourself out. In this video, I review some of the stocks I got stopped out of this week. My feeling is we will eventually come out of this with an upside breakout in the Nasdaq Composite. I don’t see any sustained downside because fear escalates very quickly in this market. By no means am I being complacent. If any major warning signs show up, I will do my best to present them to you and get defensive. In the meantime, just be patient while we get through the next two weeks. If you have any questions, you can ask them during the next webinar which will be Monday, June 21st at 7:30PM EST. Thank you and have a great weekend!
