12) 42:40 Conclusion/Summary
Market Summary:
In this video, I discuss the down day on Friday with the following points: 1) I don’t panic over one down day. As I constantly remind members in these videos, if you can’t handle the volatility, please reduce your position size and expand your timeframe. 2) I especially don’t panic because market’s don’t top until we see a cluster of distribution days. In this video, I point out how few we’ve seen on both the Nasdaq Composite and S&P 500 in recent weeks. 3) A retest of the recent breakout or a visit to the 50-day would be normal price action. I know it’s not fun when it happens quickly but that is the way the market goes sometimes. The market is not designed to be easy. 4) Please know your timeframe. I am bullish into February/March and overall bullish over the next 2-3 years, but it will not be straight up. 5) The price action of stocks is still strong and I review many of them in this video. 6) If social media and/or financial television is affecting your mindset or your trading, please turn it off. You shouldn’t need validation from anyone on social media or TV when the price action of the market is all you need. 7) My honest opinion is that Friday was just the market’s way of keeping the bulls in check, especially for those who think the market is easy. Again, it just happens sometimes.
From here, I’m going to continue to shut out the noise, keep things simple, and stick to my main guidelines during power trends: 1) Use the 21-day as your guide. In other words, if we are extended from this level, don’t be surprised to see minor pullbacks through price and/or through time. 2) Expose yourself to strong stocks and ETFs. Between the Focus List and the other stocks, there are plenty of ideas in these videos. 3) Get strong entry points near the 21-day and 50-day moving averages. 4) Manage your trades as best as possible based on your timeframe, risk tolerance, and overall investment plan. I can give guidelines, but ultimately, you need to decide what position sizes to use, the number of positions to own, when to take profits, and where to set your stop losses. Thank you and enjoy the rest of your weekend.
