Market Summary:
Coming into last week, I mentioned the things I wanted to see to tell me that the market’s health was improving. We saw all of them occur last week. We saw the selling slow down, as there were no distribution days last week. We saw all the major indexes regain their 50-day moving averages. We didn’t see a follow through day, but that was not a definite requirement because we were not in a deeper correction. However, we did see a strong accumulation day, as last Wednesday was the highest volume day of the past month. Some of the recent excess bullishness got washed out after Tuesday night’s Presidential debate, as we saw some short-term panic early in Wednesday’s session. The price action in many growth stocks improved and I review them in this video.

The conclusion from all this is that it looks like the past two weeks was one big shakeout for the markets. Last week, we basically regained all the losses from two weeks ago. As I mentioned in Wednesday’s MidWeek Video, I wouldn’t be surprised to see this strength continue into regular cycle options expiration. Last Thursday and Friday were strong, and I’m expecting this strength to continue into this week. After that, please keep in mind that the second half of September tends to be seasonally weak, as we see index rebalancing, portfolio adjustments, etc. Specifically, the week of Sept 19-26 is one of the worst weeks of the year. I only present this information for members who have short-term timeframes and like to be tactical with their portfolios. As always, know your timeframe and get those strong entry points to help you deal with the potential upcoming volatility. Longer-term, we are still in a bull market, so PLEASE KNOW YOUR TIMEFRAME. If you have any questions, you can ask them during the next LIVE webinar, which will be this Monday, September 16th at 7PM EST. Thank you and enjoy the remainder of your weekend.
