Market Summary:
Coming into this past week, I mentioned that I would reduce my exposure if we saw strength. I went from approximately 90% invested down to 50% during this past week. My main reason for doing this is that I’m expecting a normal pullback to the 50-day moving average sometime between January 17-31. I would like to stress two points: 1) This type of active portfolio management is not for everyone. One of the main goals of this product is to encourage members to make their OWN decisions based on timeframe and investment objectives. 2) I am not expecting a crash, just a normal pullback. If we get it, I will look to put money back to work in many of the Focus List names.
In this video, I discuss ways that I’ve been looking to improve, and one of them is doing a better job of selling into strength. I also notice that many of my drawdowns occur the week after regular cycle options expiration (OpEx) and I just wanted to lock in some profits. Many of the names on the Focus List have achieved strong gains since early November and simply need time to digest over the near-term. This digestion would also coincide with the choppy/muted Q1 that we tend to see during Presidential election years. In other words, keep your expectations realistic over the near-term, as the market will likely digest the strong gains of November and December. If you have any questions, you can ask them during the next webinar which will be this Monday, January 15th at 7PM EST. Thank you and enjoy your long weekend!
