8) 21:30 Conclusion/Summary
Market Summary:
In this video, I remind members of the points I discussed in the Market Note on 5/21/23. The market is healthy 2-3 times a year and this is one of those times. The market is sending us a clear message that the economic reports don’t matter, and neither does the Fed. There is a bigger force behind the market, and I believe it is the productivity gains that will be powered by Artificial Intelligence (AI) over the next few years. Will we see corrections and volatility along the way? Of course! But right now, the market is showing us its clear leaders and I want members to stay focused on them and the strongest growth sectors.
As I mentioned coming into this week, the week of regular cycle options expiration tends to trend to the upside. Into this week’s strength, I reduced my exposure from approximately 80% invested down to 70%. If next week sees some profit taking, I plan to put that cash back to work. As always, I encourage members to get those strong entry points and manage your positions according to your timeframe and investment objectives. One thing I also cover in this video is I am NOT encouraging shorting. Many members have emailed me that their stocks are doing well, but their short positions are hurting them. I haven’t mentioned shorting in any videos this year! If you are an experienced trader and you want to short as a way to hedge your portfolio, then I completely understand and do what works for you. However, I go back to the reminder of staying focused on the winners! This is one of those rare healthy times for the market, and I need members to stay mentally tough and do your best to shut out the noise. Good luck for the remainder of the week, and the next video will be posted by Sunday, June 18th at 6PM EST due to the Juneteenth holiday on Monday.
