Market Summary:
The major indexes are very strong and continue to hold their key moving averages. They are strong because of 1) All the liquidity being pumped into the system by the central banks 2) The constant sector rotation 3) The weighting of the Mega Caps on the indexes and 4) The fear that arises on any little drop. Regarding stocks, many are in strong uptrends, especially the ones in strong growth sectors. Of course, some will not work and break down, and that’s why I suggest using risk management when any position significantly turns against you.

Overall, I don’t want to complicate things and prefer to keep it simple. The major indexes were down for the week, but the decline was on lighter volume than the previous week, showing little institutional selling. Short-term, we could see the strength continue over the next week or two, as new retirement money tends to flow into the market at the beginning of the month. Also, there are many stocks with earnings still coming up in early August. After that, we could see some volatility as the majority of earnings season will be over and the remainder of August and September tend to be volatile. As always, I will take this one day at a time, but if we see some strength over the near-term, I will likely lock in some profits and keep some cash for the inevitable pullbacks. In this video, I discuss many of the strong growth stocks and sectors. Just remember to use the 21-day moving average as your guide, and do not chase extended stocks. Enjoy the remainder of your weekend!
