Market Summary:
So far this week, the Nasdaq Composite had a normal pullback on light volume to its 21-day moving average, and many leading stocks (especially in software) did the same. Yes, there was a decent amount of volatility on Tuesday, and these shakeouts are never fun, but I viewed the price action as fairly normal. I emailed members on Tuesday night to remind you of two things: Get strong entry points and reduce emotions when there is market volatility.

In this video, I review many stocks that had normal pullbacks to their 21-day and bounced so far this week. The 21-day is a good area to look to enter stocks (or even half positions) because in up-trending markets, strong stocks tend to hold that key level. From here, I could see the next 10-14 trading days continuing to trend to the upside. Retirement money tends to flow into the markets at the beginning of the month, especially when the first trading day of the month falls on a Monday, as it does next week to start August. We could see the market continue to be strong into early August, as many companies still have earnings coming up. As always, I will take this day by day, but I don’t see any sustained downside because of the strong Fed liquidity, and the consistent “one foot out the door” mentality by the majority of market participants. Again, stay focused on the strongest stocks and make sure to get strong entry points. If you have a cushion on your stocks and have a longer-term timeframe, be patient and use the 10-week moving average as your guide. Good luck for the remainder of the week!
