Market Summary:
In last weekend’s video, I discussed the possibility of the Nasdaq Composite pulling back to its 21-day moving average, as the index was extended from that level. During this past week, the Nasdaq did correct down to that level and bounced to close roughly flat for the week. In addition, the S&P 500 dropped to its 10-day and bounced, and the Russell 2000 dropped below its 50-day only to rally back later in the week and close strong. Overall, I view this price action as normal and mostly bullish. I like the pullbacks we saw in many stocks, indexes, and ETFs this week because right before things move higher, they tend to put in quick drops to “shake out” the weak hands. The problem is too many people are getting frustrated and tossed around by this volatility, but most of the pullbacks this week were to logical support levels before bouncing.

I addressed how to deal with these frustrations in Wednesday’s MidWeek Video and I discuss them again in this video. You have to be patient! I am trying to build calm, confident traders and you will never become one if you panic and get nervous over every tick in the market. The easiest way to overcome your fears is to take smaller positions, get strong entry points, and use the 10-week moving average as your guide. While doing this, understand and accept normal pullbacks along the way. In addition, try to keep your portfolio focused on the strongest stocks possible. I find I do much better owning a concentrated group of stocks because it’s easier to follow fewer names. Don’t feel that you have to own everything and have FOMO (fear of missing out) if something you don’t own moves higher without out. There will always be more opportunities down the road. If you have any questions about stocks not covered in this weekend’s video, you can ask them during the next webinar which will be Sunday, April 25th at 7PM EST. Thank you and enjoy the rest of your weekend!
