Market Summary:
I got many emails this week from members who are frustrated with this market. The obvious challenge is that the major indexes are in strong uptrends, but many individual growth stocks are still in correction mode. I sent out an email memo on Tuesday to try and offer some words of encouragement. In this video, I discuss several ways to minimize frustration such as protecting confidence, being patient, using smaller positions, staying focused on the best stocks, and using a blend of ETFs to give you broad exposure to the index strength.
Regarding the markets, the Nasdaq Composite pulled back to its 21-day moving average on Monday and Tuesday of this week. The good news is it happened on light volume and there’s very little distribution in the market. Overall, I feel the Nasdaq is carving out a handle to its base and consolidating the gains from earlier this month. We could still see some volatility over the near-term (especially if the S&P 500 decides to pull back to its 21-day), but if this happens, I don’t see any sustained downside. This is why I stress the importance of getting strong entry points to deal with the possible volatility and normal pullbacks. In this video, I review a focus list of stocks in the Semiconductor and Medical Products sectors, as well as some sector ETFs. If you are getting frustrated with this market, please remember to protect your confidence and be patient. Good luck for the remainder of the week and see you on Saturday for the next video.
