Market Summary:
After the April 8th follow through day, the price action has been strong. For the most part, we’ve seen the markets consolidate on light volume, there’s been minimal distribution, the major indexes continue to hold their key moving averages, we’ve seen additional days of accumulation, and, most importantly, many growth stocks continue to act well. These are all positive signs of the institutions coming back into the market, and it is being driven by the four secular growth themes that I’ve been highlighting since the beginning of the year: 1) Aerospace/Defense 2) Semiconductors 3) Data Center related and 4) Biotech.
Over the near-term, I wouldn’t be surprised to see a consolidation either through price or through time. I realize that the market is very strong but I’m simply talking from a probabilities standpoint. My reasoning is: 1) The markets are extended technically. 2) The week after regular cycle options expiration (OpEx) tends to see profit taking. 3) After Nvidia’s earnings this week, most of the big reports will be out of the way and the news cycle could shift its focus from fundamentals back to the geopolitical nonsense. I reduced my exposure last week and if we get a consolidation, I will look to put money back to work in the stocks discussed in these videos that are showing strong relative strength.
Remember my main guidelines during power trends: 1) Use the 21-day as your guide. In other words, if we are extended from this level, don’t be surprised to see minor pullbacks through price and/or through time. 2) Expose yourself to strong stocks and ETFs. There are plenty of ideas in these videos. 3) Get strong entry points near the 21-day and 50-day moving averages. 4) Manage your trades as best as possible based on your timeframe, risk tolerance, and overall investment plan. I can give guidelines, but ultimately, you need to decide what position size to use, the number of positions to own, when to take profits, and where to set your stop losses. Thank you and enjoy the rest of your weekend.
