Market Summary:
Towards the end of last week, the Nasdaq Composite saw weakness mainly due to the guidance and comments from Oracle and Broadcom. Many market participants are wondering if this should be a concern. I’m saying no for the following reasons: There are not many distributions days on the major indexes. The indexes are still about their 50-day MA. From 1995-1999, there were many growth scares in the Internet sector, so the current growth scares in AI are not a concern. The small and mid-cap indexes are holding up very well. The broader market (NYSE Composite) is near a new high and the advance/decline line made a new all-time high last Thursday. Bottom line: The broader market continues to act well and the entire market is NOT just AI. Many other sectors are strong, and this should bode well as we head into a traditionally strong seasonal period.

Remember some of the main guidelines during power trends: 1) Use the 21-day as your guide. In other words, if we are extended from this level, don’t be surprised to see minor pullbacks through price and/or through time. 2) Expose yourself to strong stocks and ETFs. Between the Focus List and the other stocks, there are plenty of ideas in these videos. 3) Get strong entry points near the 21-day and 50-day moving averages. 4) Manage your trades as best as possible based on your timeframe, risk tolerance, and overall investment plan. I can give guidelines, but ultimately, you need to decide what position sizes to use, the number of positions to own, when to take profits, and where to set your stop losses. Thank you and enjoy the rest of your weekend.
