Market Summary:
I’ve been expecting a range and a choppy market environment, and that’s what we’ve seen over the past 4-6 weeks. The big question now is: Are we going to breakout of this range to the upside? Or is this range going to resolve itself by moving to the downside? The honest answer is I don’t know. I prefer to be patient until we get more clarity. The biggest positive is that many growth stocks continue to act well, but the biggest negative is that the weight of the market is holding them down. They key right now is to show some discipline until we see the institutions CONSISTENTLY come back into the market. In this video, I discuss a few positives this week: 1) Monday was the first big accumulation day of the year for the Nasdaq Composite. It’s a step in the right direction, but again, I would still like to see more consistent days like this. 2) Considering all the negative headlines (tariffs, CPI, etc.), the markets have been fairly resilient. 3) The Nasdaq Composite and S&P 500 continue to hold above their respective 50-day moving averages.

Overall, stick to the main guidelines of exposing yourself to strong stocks/strong ETFs, getting those strong entry points, and then managing your trades as best as possible. Also, always remember that no matter what your timeframe is, you have to have some form of a loss cutting discipline when a position turns against you. It can be a percentage loss, a specific dollar stop loss, or a technical level, but you must have one as part of your overall plan. Thank you and good luck for the remainder of the week.
