Market Summary:
In this video, I discuss some of the feedback I received from my Market Note to Members earlier this week. Some great points were made about being too cautious when the market is near all-time highs, and the S&P 500 showing better relative strength than the Nasdaq Composite recently. Please keep in mind: 1) Defensive doesn’t mean bearish. It’s hard to get too bearish when we’re still in a bull market and many mega cap names such as GOOGL, AMZN, JPM, etc. are near new highs. 2) When there’s a mixed picture in the market, I’m always goin to lean defensive to protect members. If you have a higher risk tolerance, then by all means, you can position yourself more aggressively in the market. Just because I’m not doing it at this time doesn’t mean all the members should follow. Know thyself and stick to your own plan.
Overall, I’m still expecting a range over the near-term. I am currently 50% invested. That way, if the market moves higher, I will hopefully participate, and if the market moves lower, having a decent cash position can hopefully mitigate some of the downside and the overall volatility for my clients. There are sill many growth names acting well and showing great relative strength, specifically in the Software, Genomics, and Space-related areas. I review many of them in this video. If you have any questions, you can ask them during the next LIVE webinar which will be this Monday, February 3rd at 7PM EST. Thank you and enjoy the rest of your weekend.
