Market Summary:
I try my best to keep things simple. We’re in a bull market, and let’s not overcomplicate it. Shorter-term, I mentioned we could see some volatility towards the end of September and into early October. So far this week, the market has been incredibly resilient. I’m guessing the rate cut from the Fed last week is adding more liquidity into the market, and there seems to be a relentless bid beneath the surface. That being said, I still think we will see some normal pullbacks and shakeouts along the way, but nothing extreme to the downside. Remember the rules during these power trends: 1) Use the 21-day as your guide. In other words, if we are extended from this level, don’t be surprised to see minor pullbacks through price or through time. 2) Expose yourself to strong stocks and ETFs. I present plenty of ideas in these videos. 3) Get strong entry points near the 21-day and 50-day moving averages. 4) Stick to your stops. Just because it’s a bull market, it doesn’t mean EVERY trade is going to work. You still have to manage risk. 5) Manage your trades as best as possible based on your timeframe. I can give guidelines, but ultimately, you need to decide what position sizes to use and when to take profits.
From here, we are slightly extended on the Nasdaq Composite. Again, it doesn’t mean we HAVE to pullback, but if we do see one down to the 21-day, I would consider it normal price action. As always, if you have trouble making decisions or don’t want to actively manage your portfolio, use smaller positions and give them more room. I am presenting at a conference this weekend, and I would like to practice my talk for Educational Members. The topics are: Interpreting Unusual Options Activity, Interpreting Data for Market Calls, Market Psychology, and Biotech Idea Generation. I will be holding a special webinar tomorrow, Thursday September 26th at 7PM EST if you are interested in hearing this talk and giving me feedback. Thank you and see you on Thursday!
