Market Summary:
Here are the concepts I discussed in the two 2024 Preview Videos: 1) I am bullish over the next 6-12 months because of all the technical strength we saw from November through January. The institutions aggressively came back into the markets because of the new bull market powered by AI, and they are anticipating the Fed lowering rates this year. 2) Does that mean we will go straight up with no pullbacks? Of course not! That’s why I’ve also discussed the theme of “using the 21-day EMA as your guide.” 3) Stay focused on the best growth stocks/ETFs out there. 4) Get strong entry points and manage your trades based on your timeframe and overall investment plan. If you don’t have a plan, please continue to finetune it and work on one that fits your situation. 5) Manage risk and stick to your stops. Just because it’s a bull market doesn’t mean everything is going to work out.
The theme of this video is be open-minded, remain patient, and stay disciplined. Positives: 1) We’re still in an uptrend. 2) The Nasdaq Composite and S&P 500 continue to show resiliency and hold above their respective 21-day EMAs. 3) Many leading growth stocks continue to hold up well and I review them in this video. Negatives: 1) Distribution days on the Nasdaq Comp are adding up (5 in the past two weeks). 2) The end of the quarter tends to see added volatility and profit-taking. 3) We’ve haven’t visited the 50-day in a while. Conclusion: As I’ve mentioned in recent videos, when there’s a mixed picture, lean defensive. For me, defensive means not looking to buy new positions, if I buy anything new or add to existing positions, I do so with LIGHT positions, and making sure to stick to a loss-cutting discipline if anything turns against me.
I’m very grateful that many new members joined recently and I realize that you are looking for ideas, but please keep in mind that I prefer to remain patient until we get a clearer picture. I want to see how the market acts around key support levels, and I would also like to wait for the recent selling to slow down. One goal of this product is to keep you on the right side of the market. Longer-term, we’re still in a strong trend, but over the near-term, the winds are swirling and I would like to wait until we get through this seasonally weak period. If you have any questions, you can ask them during the next LIVE webinar which will be a week from Sunday on March 24th at 7PM EST. Thank you and enjoy the remainder of your weekend.
