Market Summary:
Towards the end of November and into early December, I mentioned to start getting ready for step 3, which was a breakout of the recent consolidation range. We got it over the past 5-7 trading days and I received different responses from members: 1) Some thanked me and took great advantage of this recent breakout. If you did, congratulations! Stay focused and stay humble. 2) Some members hesitated and didn’t believe we would see more upside. Two responses to this: First, you are probably listening to too many opinions. Focus more on the price action of the market and less on other people’s opinions. Second, if you have trouble making decisions, you can always start with smaller positions to help build your decision-making muscle. 3) Some members got more invested but got hit by a few stocks that gapped down recently (such as ADBE). Hopefully, you had a strong entry point. Also, let’s not cherry pick a few stocks that didn’t participate while many ideas such as AVGO, CRWD and UBER continue to scream higher. Bottom line, we’re not always going to trade everything perfectly, but stay focused on the positive and make sure your self-talk is strong.
One thing I could’ve done better recently is guide members to sectors that will benefit from lower rates, such as housing, biotech, and small caps. When these stocks/ETFs provide better entry points, I will pass them along to members. Please keep in mind that the Zweig Breadth Trust from early November bodes well for the market over the next 6 to 12 months. In other words, there will ALWAYS be plenty of opportunities in the future if you missed some of them over the past week. From here, I am expecting continued strength into mid-January with minimal pullbacks. I remain 80-90% invested and I’m doing my best to let my winners run. Again, I’m trying to keep things simple and not overthink things. Thank you and good luck this week!
