Market Summary:
The market pattern I’ve discussed over the past several weeks continues. We are seeing the up days occur on strong volume and the down/consolidation days are coming on lighter volume. I still think we’re in a healthy uptrend that could last into mid-March, but please keep in mind that we will have normal pullbacks along the way. A few points I mention in this video: 1) I was expecting this week to trend up because it’s the week of Options Expiration (OpEx). So far it has, but it’s occurred on below average volume. I’m not trying to micromanage things, but it could be a sign that we are running out of steam over the short-term. 2) The week AFTER OpEx tends to trend to the downside. 3) The Ryan Detrick statistic (see link above) shows that the second half of February tends to show weakness. 4) The QQQ strangle trade from January 30th (listed at the bottom of this page) potentially means that 310 could be the upside until early March.
As always, I am doing my best to present some of the statistics and probabilities. I encourage members to make decisions based on your own timeframe and investment objectives. For example, if you are a longer-term holder, accept some volatility along the way. If you trade shorter-term, use the ranges to help with your investments levels. Either way, remember that getting strong entry points will help with your decisions and please do NOT chase extended stocks. If you have any questions or would like me to review any stocks not mentioned in this video, you can ask them during the next webinar which will be this Monday, February 20th at 11AM EST. Thank you and good luck for the remainder of the week.
