Market Summary:
I always like to approach the market with an open mind, look at the positives and the negatives, and have a flexible approach. The current positives: 1) The major indexes are above their key moving averages 2) Many of the Mega Cap leaders are acting well 3) Sentiment is fairly muted 4) The Fed is still on the market’s side, as they continue to provide tons of liquidity. The main negative is the upcoming seasonality. August and September tend to be two of the more difficult months for the market. It doesn’t mean we have to decline, it simply means to be prepared for potential volatility.
Conclusion: Stick with the trend, focus on the strongest stocks, get strong entry points, and manage risk. As I mentioned last week, how I am handling it is by reducing a little exposure, just in case we see some higher volatility over the next 6 weeks. If we do see some volatility over the near-term, I’m not expecting any sustained downside for the reasons I mentioned in recent videos. A pullback to the 50-day over the next 6 weeks would be normal, that’s why entry points are very key to my process. As always, the decisions you make should be based on your own timeframe and investment objectives. If you have any questions about this or any stocks that you would like me to review, you can ask them during the next webinar, which will be Monday, August 9th at 7:30PM EST. Thank you and enjoy the rest of your weekend!
