Market Summary:
As many of you know, I like to keep an open mind when interpreting the market. I look at the positives and the negatives and adjust my investment levels accordingly. Right now, the biggest positive is the strength of the major indexes. They all closed at (or near) new all-time highs on Friday. Other positives include: there’s very little distribution, seasonality, sector rotation, and the low interest rate environment provided by the Fed. The biggest negative is that I am finding very few setups because many stocks have already run (by setups, I mean safe entry points). That doesn’t mean the market has to drop, it just means that I’m not going to force providing ideas or buying anything that is not near a safe entry point. Also, another positive is that many of the Mega Cap stocks have not participated in the rally over the past few months. It’s possible we can continue to see sector rotation. For example, while some semiconductor and software stocks are digesting their recent gains, money could rotate into some of the Mega Caps (discussed in this video), especially because they tend to run ahead of their earnings which are later this month.
Bottom line: There’s insane resilience and liquidity right now. The low interest rate environment provided by the Fed combined with the amount of liquidity they are pumping into the system in unprecedented. This situation has never been seen before in market history. The way I am handling it is to continue my strategy of taking profits into strength and having cash to put to work during the inevitable pullbacks. How you handle it should be based on your own timeframe and risk tolerance. I am currently 60% invested, but I never want people to trade like me. I encourage members to use the blueprint and teachings explained in all these videos and use whichever parts you like to form your own trading/investing personality. If you have any questions, you can ask me during the next webinar on Sunday, January 10th at 11AM EST. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
