Market Summary:
It’s the same two themes I discussed in the Weekend Video: 1) Regarding the general market: KEEP IT SIMPLE! The major indexes are in uptrends, they are all above their 50-day moving averages, there’s little distribution, stocks are acting well, and the upcoming seasonality is favorable. 2) Regarding entry points: Use the 21-day as your guide. I feel that the market can continue higher over the near-term, but it will not be straight up. We will see many shakeouts along the way, so please use the 21-day to give you perspective when we see normal pullbacks. My biggest concern is the high investment levels shown in many sentiment surveys, however, I’m not expecting any meaningful correction until next year. As always, I will take this one day at a time.
I’m going to continue to shut out the noise, keep things simple, and stick to my main guidelines during power trends: 1) Use the 21-day as your guide. In other words, if we are extended from this level, don’t be surprised to see minor pullbacks through price and/or through time. 2) Expose yourself to strong stocks and ETFs. Between the Focus List and the other stocks, there are plenty of ideas in these videos. 3) Get strong entry points near the 21-day and 50-day moving averages. 4) Manage your trades as best as possible based on your timeframe, risk tolerance, and overall investment plan. I can give guidelines, but ultimately, you need to decide what position sizes to use, the number of positions to own, when to take profits, and where to set your stop losses. Thank you and good luck for the remainder of the week. Happy New Year everyone! Warmest wishes to you and your families for a happy, healthy, and prosperous 2026!

Write-up on EchoStar (Symbol: SATS)
EchoStar (SATS) continues to see strong bullish positions open in the options market including a 12/29 trade that bought 1250 March $110 calls to open at $10.45 to $10.50, a 12/15 buyer of 1000 April $110 calls at $16.50, 1000 January 2028 $130 and $135 calls bought on 12/11, an adjustment trade that opened 4000 April $90 calls on 12/10 valued over $10M and 12/10 buys of 1000 each in July $135 and September $130 calls. SATS also still has 8500 February $135 calls bought in open interest from 12/10 trades, 8000 January $80 calls and 7500 January $90 calls while April $115 holds 6000 in OI from short call trades. SATS shares ran up on big volume to start December with talks of the SpaceX IPO valuation and have since formed a consolidation bull flag that measures to a $140 target on a move above $110. EchoStar completed its all‑stock merger with DISH Network on December 31, 2023, creating a combined company that controls DISH’s satellite TV (Dish TV), Sling TV, nationwide 5G network, and Hughes/Jupiter satellite broadband and enterprise services. In August 2025, EchoStar agreed to sell roughly 30 MHz of nationwide mid‑band spectrum (~1.9–2.0 GHz S‑Band/PCS) and about 20 MHz of nationwide low‑band licenses (covering virtually every U.S. market) to AT&T for about 23 billion dollars in cash, subject to FCC approval. EchoStar plans to use proceeds primarily to pay down debt and support a hybrid MNO model with AT&T, revising their network‑services agreement to let AT&T handle more radio‑access build‑out while EchoStar focuses on retail brands (Boost, Dish) and remaining assets. EchoStar also announced a spectrum and connectivity arrangement with SpaceX valued at roughly 19 billion dollars in total consideration, in which SpaceX gains access to key S‑Band spectrum for its direct‑to‑device and satellite‑to‑cell offerings. SATS has a $32B market cap and trades 4X EV/Sales and 29.5X EBITDA though most of its valuation is embedded in its strategic assets. Combined, the AT&T and SpaceX transactions are commonly cited as roughly 40 billion dollars of spectrum monetization, which could allow EchoStar to eliminate most or all of its financial debt and still retain meaningful satellite, enterprise, and brand assets—if both deals close as planned. EchoStar has pivoted from a wireless operator to an investment company, prompting a valuation shift that assigns $11B to remaining spectrum based on precedents. Its 3% SpaceX stake, now implied at about $22B or roughly $65 per share using an $800B valuation, represents significant upside versus prior mark. Analysts have an average target of $112.50 and short interest has crept higher to 8% of the float. Deutsche Bank raised its target to $131, saying other catalysts include the company reaching settlements with tower providers, AWS-3 re-auction, a SpaceX initial public offering, and a resolution of the Dish creditor lawsuit. MSCO upgraded and the sale to AT&T to close by mid-year ’26 and the sale to SpaceX to close in Nov. ’27. MSCO also raises estimates for the value EchoStar will capture with its remaining AWS-3 spectrum licenses from $1.50 to $2.50 saying Verizon and T-Mobile will be interested in this spectrum for their networks.
