7) 27:00 Conclusion/Summary
Market Summary:
We had a follow through day (FTD) on Tuesday, April 22, and a second FTD on Wednesday, April 23. In addition, we had various breadth thrusts recently (including a Zweig Breath Thrust) and I reviewed them in last weekend’s video. The price action in some growth stocks continues to improve. The relative strength names highlighted in recent videos continue to act well. The major indexes are back above their 50-day moving averages but still below their 200-day moving averages.
CONCLUSION: For me, I am approximately 65% invested. I’m still not sure if this is a short covering rally back to the 200-day that will eventually fail, or if this is the start of a new powertrend. By staying 65%, if the market moves higher, I will hopefully participate, and if we see more downside, I will hopefully be able to contain the volatility with the 35% cash position. Over the near-term, I wouldn’t be surprised to see a consolidation of the recent gains. In this video, I mention how we tend to see a low the Thursday before regular cycle options expiration (OpEx), and then the week of OpEx tends to trend to the upside. For people who like to be tactical, it could be an opportunity for better entry points if we drift back towards the 21-day later this week. If you have any questions, you can ask them during the next LIVE webinar, which will be this Monday, May 5th at 7PM EST. Thank you and enjoy the rest of your weekend.
