Market Summary:
QUICK ANNOUNCEMENT: DUE TO THE JUNETEENTH HOLIDAY, THE NEXT MIDWEEK VIDEO WILL BE POSTED ON TUESDAY, JUNE 18TH BY 8PM EST.
As I mentioned several times since early May, we’re in a power trend, don’t overthink things and keep it simple. In recent videos, I’ve stressed the point of using the 21-day as your guide. This led to a question this week asking me: “Do we have to drop down to the 21-day?” My first response is if you are asking this question, it most likely is coming from fear. If you are too over-levered, then reduce your exposure. If you can’t handle a 2-3% pullback, I honestly can’t help you. I’m not being a wise ass, I’m just trying to encourage calm and confident traders, and for members to be ok with normal pullbacks and normal price action. My second response is no, we don’t have to drop. We can correct through price or through time, and so far, we are correcting through time.
Another question I’ve received several times is: “Do we have to see weakness at the end of June?” Again, we don’t have to do anything, however, the seasonal stats show that we tend to see weakness from June 19 through June 27th (see link above). In other words, the market could use the end of the quarter as an excuse for some profit taking. Bottom line is even if we see a pullback, I don’t expect anything major, and we are likely to resume the market strength in July. The lesson here is don’t live in fear and know your timeframe. Another topic I address in this video is market breadth. I realize that some sectors are weak, but that’s why I’ve discussed so many times to FOCUS ON THE BEST. In other words, there are great companies experiencing tremendous growth right now and those are the sectors/companies I’m going to continue to focus on. Thank you and enjoy the rest of your weekend.
