6) 27:25 Conclusion/Summary
Market Summary:
Coming out of the two seasonally weak months of August and September, I am expecting a Q4 rally. The two main reasons are: 1) The recent pullback was mostly on below average volume, telling me the big institutions were not aggressively selling over the past two months. 2) Based on the set up this year, the statistics show the potential for a strong Q4 (see link above). However, we still need the market to prove itself. Specifically, I would like to see more consistent upside volume, more stocks setting up, a follow through day (or two), and for sentiment to reach high levels of bearishness. This last point is already there as many sentiment measures this week and the high level of put buying are showing high levels of fear.
Reviewing this week, we saw a distribution day on Tuesday, which led me to email a Market Note to Members. The purpose of the note was to remind members to be patient until the market proves itself better. We saw signs of this improvement on Friday when the Nasdaq Composite flashed a Day 8 follow through day (FTD). The good news is that the index regained its 21-day moving average. The bad news is that the FTD occurred on below average volume. Nevertheless, it’s a step in the right direction and from here we need to see: 1) Little to no distribution. 2) More stocks setting up. 3) An additional FTD. Again, please be patient until this happens. If conditions continue to improve, there will be plenty of time to make money in Q4. In this video, I review how I sold three positions this week and added two positions. I am currently about 70% invested. If you have any questions, you can ask them during the next webinar, which will be this Tuesday, October 10th at 7PM EST. Thank you and enjoy the remainder of your weekend!
