Market Summary:
In this video, I review the price action of the past several months. We had a strong power trend for approximately three months (May, June, July) followed by a consolidation during the seasonally weak months of August and September. Even during this recent pullback, I presented to members key inflection points for those who like to be tactical with their investment levels. For example, I discussed taking profits around July 18, putting some money back to work around August 17/18 when the volume dried up, and most recently preparing members for the decline during the last two weeks of September.
Please keep in mind that this type of trading is not for everyone. I discuss it to help members who like to vary their investment levels, but also to help prepare ALL members for the potential moves in the market. Remember, not everyone trades like you and members have all different timeframes. Also, not EVERYTHING I do will be CANSLIM related. Most of my strategy has a similar growth blueprint, but I also like to add my own experience such as seasonality, unusual options activity, sentiment, and other factors. Bottom line, I respect that members have different styles, and I will continue to do my best to present strategies for members with these different styles and timeframes.
From here, I am still expecting a strong fourth quarter, however, we need to be patient until the market proves itself. I would like to see more upside volume consistently coming in from the big institutions. I would also like to see a follow through day or two, and more stocks forming strong bases to give us safer entry points. Again, please be patient and keep your positions light until the market shows improving signs of health. I will continue to monitor the price action and pass along strong relative strength ideas as soon as they present themselves. Thank you and good luck this week.
