Market Summary:
In this video, I review the positives and the negatives in the market. Before I discuss them, I remind members to maintain a positive mental state and make sure your self-talk is strong. Many members are getting frustrated with the market and struggling to make progress. Please keep in mind that the general market ALSO hasn’t made any progress over the past year and it was a brutal bear market in 2022. My feeling is the big institutions are waiting for clarity with the macro economic picture before CONSISTENTLY putting money to work. Just be patient. When inflation comes down and the Fed pauses their current rate hiking cycle, I’m confident we will see a nice, sustained power trend. In the meantime, just keep things light, focus on getting those strong entry points (21-day), and make sure to manage risk when positions turn against you (decisive closes below the 10-week).

The market positives include: Strength in the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite, we’re in a seasonally strong month, and many growth stocks have pulled back to support on light volume. The negatives include: Weakness in small and midcaps (IWM and MDY), the macro economic headwinds, the overall weakness in breadth (only 25% of all Nasdaq and NYSE stocks are above their 50-day moving average). Again, I am more optimistic than most because I like the prospects in many individual stocks, however, I am not blind to the challenging macro picture. Therefore, I am sticking to my plan of using lighter positions, having exposure to some of the strongest stocks and ETFs I can find, and keeping some cash on hand in case any weakness weighs down on stocks. I am currently 60% invested. If you have any questions, you can ask them during the next webinar which will be this Monday, April 10th at 7PM EST. Thank you and enjoy the remainder of your long holiday weekend!
