Market Summary:
As I’ve mentioned in the past few videos, one challenge right now is how do you balance many stocks that are acting well with an overall market that is still shaky? The way I reconcile this is by using lighter positions until the market proves itself better. That way, if the market goes lower, you hopefully don’t get hit as bad, and if the market moves higher, you can participate and always increase exposure. I am currently 40% invested and I will feel more comfortable adding exposure when I see the big institutions come in with more consistent upside volume. We are likely to get more clarity after we get through the next inflation (CPI) report this Tuesday, September 13th and the upcoming Fed meeting on Wednesday, September 21st.

In my screening over the weekend, I definitely noticed more stocks looking better and the number of sectors slowly broadening out. Or course, we are still not out of the woods, but the slight improvement in the price action of stocks is a step in the right direction. Another positive from a contrarian point of view is the overall negative sentiment. If the upcoming economic data is positive and/or we see tensions ease in Russia/Ukraine, it would be an excuse for the market to surprise to the upside. Short interest is still very high and many market participants are underinvested. If you have any questions or would like me to review any stocks not covered in this video, you can ask them during the next webinar which will be this Tuesday, September 13th at 7PM EST. Thank you and enjoy the remainder of your weekend.
