Market Summary:
In this video, I review how the price action was normal early last week and the reasons why. After that, the Nasdaq Composite saw three consecutive days of accumulation. Most of it had to do with Fed Chair Powell’s fairly dovish comments but part of the gains last week had to do with the fairly negative sentiment. From here, the bulls would like to see a healthy consolidation. Short-term, the major indexes are extended from their 21-day moving averages, so a normal, low-volume pullback would be welcome. Also, keep in mind that we are heading into August and September, which are traditionally two of the weaker months of the year.
I am going to stick with my plan of keeping some cash and also keeping exposure to some of the strongest stocks and ETFs I can find. Please remember that if you also want broad market exposure, you can always use ETFs such as SPY, QQQ, or IWM. I don’t see the indexes screaming higher from here, but that doesn’t mean I’m expecting significant downside either because many are still negative on this market. A healthy sideways consolidation would be great but, as always, I will take this day-by-day. If you have any questions, would like clarification on anything covered in this video, or would like me to review any stocks not covered, you can ask them during the next webinar which will be this Monday, August 1st at 7PM EST. Thank you and enjoy the rest of your weekend!
