Market Summary:
A few members have asked me if most of the bad news (interest rate hikes, inflation, etc.) is already priced in the market. Of course, no one knows, but my direct answer is we will see the technicals improve when the market is ready for a new, sustained uptrend. Last month, I wrote an article for Yahoo Finance talking about the 5 things I need to see before I’m more confident in a new uptrend (you can find it in link above). The most important factor is for the price action of stocks to improve and to see more consistency from the big institutions. For example, Tuesday of this week was a strong up day for the Nasdaq Composite on decent volume, but Wednesday saw most of the gains given back on heavier volume. The point here is that in a healthier market, we would see more consistency.
The conclusion is the same: Stay defensive and be patient until market conditions improve. In this video, I review many stocks that I’ve discussed recently. For the sake of time, I can’t review all the stocks, so please make sure to use the same guidelines on any stocks/ETFs not covered. Use the 21-day as your guide (especially for pullback buys) and use any Friday decisive close below the 10-week moving average as a suggested stop. Again, please don’t overthink the macro picture. You’ll drive yourself crazy. Just be patient until we see better health. Thank you and good luck for the remainder of the week.
