Market Summary:
I received several emails after the close on Friday asking me if the market has bottomed? The straightforward answer is I don’t know. It’s too early to tell and the market still needs to prove itself. If I can offer any advice to newer traders is that it’s very important to reduce emotions during volatile markets. Learn to be patient and wait for higher probability situations. I completely respect that members have all different timeframes and objectives, which is why I’ve discussed different strategies in recent videos. However, no matter your timeframe, it’s important to get strong entry points and manage risk. In other words, you don’t need my permission to buy things. Just make sure to manage risk. Most of the strategies and ideas I discuss are going to come from a higher probability standpoint, and right now, with the major averages below their respective 200-days, I’m going to remain patient and defensive.

In this video, I discuss why Friday was NOT a follow through day (FTD). Also, please keep in mind that the rules for a FTD use the entire index volume and not the specific ETF volumes. I also discuss some historical examples to keep an open mind for some technical possibilities from here. Again, I just think the market needs time to prove itself. I turned defensive in December for several reasons, and what would make me more positive on this market is to see the OPPOSITE of those reasons show up. Specifically, more stocks setting up and a less hawkish Fed. If you have any questions or would like me to review any stocks not covered in this video, you can ask them during the next webinar which will be Monday, January 31 at 7:30PM EST. Thank you and enjoy the rest of your weekend.
