Market Summary:
I always like to keep an open mind when analyzing the market. I look at the positives and the negatives and then adjust my investment levels accordingly. In this video, I review the positives: We’re still above the 10-week moving average on the Nasdaq Composite and S&P 500, many stocks are holding up well, the Fed is on our side, the current seasonality, and we don’t have too many distribution days. The negatives: The unknowns from this new Covid variant, some leaders are right on their 50-days and could break down, and the Russell 2000 is below its 10-week. Conclusion: When there’s a mixed picture, I will always lean towards the defensive side until we get a clearer picture. By defensive, I mean minimizing new buys, using lighter positions, and cutting losses on any positions that are significantly breaking below their 10-week moving average.

I always pay attention to relative strength during pullbacks, and the silver lining is that there are some stocks holding up very well so far (I review them in this video). I’m going to lean defensive, but I’m not going to get overly bearish because this market has been incredibly resilient over the years and it rarely pays to get very negative. Of course, if market conditions get worse, I will continue to reduce exposure. If you have any questions or would like me to review any stocks not covered in this video, you can ask them during the next webinar, which will be Monday, November 29th at 7:30PM EST. Thank you and enjoy your weekend!
