Market Summary:
In this video, I discuss my market view over two different timeframes: the next 4-6 weeks and the next 3-4 months. Let’s start with 3-4 months. I am bullish into year-end for the following reasons: The strong technicals, the strong price action of stocks, sentiment, and the Fed liquidity. The main reason is the price action of stocks. While going through my screens this weekend, I noticed so many strong charts which I review in this video. I just think we need to be patient and get through what could be a seasonally volatile time of the year.
This leads me to my view over the next 4-6 weeks. As I mentioned in recent videos, I am expecting volatility during this time. The majority of S&P 500 companies have reported earnings, and the news cycle will shift from fundamentals to geopolitical nonsense, interest rate talk, etc. The could result in some volatility into the end of the quarter. Also, before markets and stocks move higher, many times they put in “shakeouts” the shake out the weak hands. That is why I always stress the importance of getting strong entry points to help deal with these potential shakeouts.
Conclusion: Know your timeframe! If you are a trader, maybe keep come cash, use lighter positions, and stay a little defensive until we start the fourth quarter. If you have a longer-term timeframe, get strong entry points and be patient through some potential volatility. Either way, the same strong concepts apply: 1) Stick with the market trend. Although I’m not expecting any sustained upside over the near-term, I am also not expecting any sustained downside. 2) Stick with strong stocks (I present many ideas in this weekend’s video). 3) Get strong entry points. 4) Manage risk around those positions. If you have any questions about this or would like me to review any stocks not covered in this weekend’s video, you can ask them during the next webinar, which will be Sunday, August 15th at 7:30PM EST. Thank you and enjoy the rest of your weekend.
