Market Summary:
The two biggest takeaways this week were liquidity and sentiment. The market’s resilience reminded us of how much liquidity is really out there. Never before in history have interest rates been so low for so long AND has so much liquidity been pumped into the system. There’s a reason why they say “Don’t Fight The Fed” and this week proved that. In addition, I underestimated how much fear built up over the GameStop situation. As I mentioned in last weekend’s video, it was the highest Equity only put-to-call ratio since November 2nd. Other sentiment measures were starting to show fear and many people were asking me about a crash. The lesson here is to turn off the news and pay more attention to price action.

I was cautious coming into the week but I said several times not to get too bearish. When I saw how the S&P 500 held its 50-day moving average and the Nasdaq Composite and Russell 2000 held their 21-days, I quickly made some adjustments and increased my exposure. That is where I constantly remind members to know their timeframe and investment objectives. If you are a longer-term investor, get a strong entry point and accept some volatility along the way. If you are a shorter-term trader, continue to take profits into strength and have some cash for the inevitable pullbacks. Currently, the major averages are a little extended. I would love to see some backing and filling this week to set us up for a possible leg higher. I review many Mega Caps in this video that have been consolidating well for the past 5-6 months. If they start to emerge from their bases, it could help the market over the next few months. If you have any questions, please ask them during the next webinar which will be Sunday, February 7th at 11AM EST. Thank you and enjoy the rest of your weekend!
