Valuable Investing Advice
Joe Fahmy, February 1st, 2010 at 7:14 pm, Comments: 0I posted this advice on my blog last November. I am re-posting it with a few date changes because it applies to the current market:
I am about to share one of the most valuable lessons I have ever learned about the stock market. I learned it from one of the best traders I know. Even [...] -
The American Dream
Joe Fahmy, December 23rd, 2009 at 4:02 pm, Comments: 0"In 1923, seven men who had made it to the top of the financial success pyramid met together at the Edgewater Hotel in Chicago. Collectively, they controlled more wealth than the entire United States Treasury, and for years the media had held them up as examples of success.
Who were they? Charles M. Schwab, president of [...] -
Pump Up The Volume!
Joe Fahmy, December 3rd, 2009 at 8:25 pm, Comments: 0Since the beginning of November, almost every trading day has occurred on below average volume. Why does this trouble me? Because it shows very little conviction from the big institutions. As a result, we've been stuck in this 3-month trading range between 2000-2200 on the NASDAQ Composite. There are a few possible scenarios from here:

Joe Fahmy, November 1st, 2009 at 9:12 pm, Comments: 0I am about to share one of the most valuable lessons I have ever learned about the stock market. I learned it from one of the best traders I know. Even if you already know this, it never hurts to hear it again because as Tony Robbins says "Repetition is the Mother of skill." Ready?

Market Notes (10/26/09)
Joe Fahmy, October 26th, 2009 at 8:51 pm, Comments: 0I still recommend keeping a cautious stance until the market shows more signs of health. The NASDAQ was down on lighter volume Monday, but the NYSE Composite and S&P 500 sold off on heavier volume. Overall, the Big Caps continue to amaze and hold up well, however they could come under some pressure on Tuesday because [...]

Confidence is Everything!
Joe Fahmy, October 12th, 2009 at 10:15 pm, Comments: 0In my Recommended Reading List blog, I suggest “self-help” books because I believe confidence and a positive state of mind is extremely important if you want to become a successful trader…or a successful anything for that matter! You cannot convince a jury if you are not a confident lawyer, you cannot properly construct a building if you are not a confident [...]

Market Notes (10/6/09)
Joe Fahmy, October 7th, 2009 at 1:57 am, Comments: 0As I mentioned in yesterday’s Market Notes, the only thing I didn’t like about Monday’s action was the lack of volume in the indexes and individual stocks. However, it wasn’t a major concern for two reasons: 1) every market selloff over the past 3 months began its recovery on light volume. For example, the pullbacks [...]

Market Notes (10/4/09)
Joe Fahmy, October 4th, 2009 at 11:53 am, Comments: 0In order to analyze the stock market effectively, a trader must FIRST, pay attention to the action of leading stocks and SECOND, observe the daily volume of the major indexes. As you gain experience and practice in these two areas, you will not only sharpen your skills as a trader, but also gain confidence and [...]

Introduction
Joe Fahmy, September 24th, 2009 at 8:30 am, Comments: 0In early 2006, I created “Market Notes” to update clients and friends on my views of the US stock market. I found it very helpful because it gave me the opportunity to organize my thoughts and prepare myself for trading. Thanks to Philip Pearlman (twitter: @ppearlman) and Howard Lindzon (twitter: @howardlindzon), they convinced me to [...]
