Stock to Watch for Tuesday 12/22/09

Many of the stocks I highlighted in my weekend blog significantly outperformed the market on Monday. Examples include: $HGSI +5.1%, $BCSI +3.9%, $LULU +2.9%, $CML +2.4%, and $AAPL +1.4%. It would have been nice to see stronger volume in the overall market on Monday, however, the action of leading stocks keeps me positive.

Here are a some ideas for Tuesday:

1) $RINO: I mentioned $RINO intra-day at $27.30 and it closed at $28.12. I feel you can buy the stock here in its "cheat" or "pocket pivot" area, use the 50-day moving average as a stop (approximately $26), and trade it with a "swing-trade" target of $33-35.

2) Big Caps: $AAPL, $PCLN and $ISRG (holding up well and could run into their earnings release), $AMZN (bounced nicely of its 10-week average last week, looks good), $GOOG (expecting a break above $600 soon), $BIDU (noticeably underperforming recently, would wait for it to regain its 50-day before buying).

3) The following stocks had strong days on Monday and could breakout soon if the market cooperates: $MELI $CTSH $FFIV $SXCI $LULU $SLXP.

4) The following stocks consolidated nicely on Monday and are worth watching: $HMIN $SWM $CERN $JST $EPAY $VCI $GOLD.

Please keep in mind that the purpose of this blog is to help people with idea generation. If you trade some of these stocks, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE use stops. In other words, if some of these stocks turn against you and the market doesn’t cooperate…protect your portfolio! Thank you. Good luck trading!
